Today, we have choices. We could have a stealthy plane. We could have a second best ZIL for the second tier of the ruling class of the old Soviet Union.

But never mind them. Have an Isuzu 117, designed surprisingly by Giugiaro. It’s reminiscent of the Fiat Dino and was the first Japanese car available with electronic fuel injection which was quite a thing in 1970. The 117 was available as a 73 hp diesel, also quite a thing.

Production lasted from 1967 to 1981 when it was replaced by another Giugiaro design, the Piazza.

This is a really pretty car. plus performance probably wasn’t too bad with a 1.6/8l DOHC motor.
